Over the past year and a half ETH has been exploring Mixed Reality in different classroom settings and disciplines using the Microsoft HoloLens. In this digital exhibition, participants can experience Mixed Reality using the application "Molegram Explorer". This application has been developed by Prof. Gisbert Schneider and Dr. Jan Hiss in collaboration with the company afca for the ETH Computer-Assisted Drug Design course and has already been used successfully in this class. Molegram Explorer allows students to better understand the concept of the solvent accessible molecular surface. Co-course leader Jan Hiss will be present at the exhibition and will provide first-hand insights into the didactical, technical and administrative aspects of using the HoloLens for teaching and learning. Overall experience with Mixed Reality project at ETH shows that student learning benefits most from Mixed Reality, if face to face collaboration between students and instructors is an integral part when discussing the virtual objects. Participants will also have the chance to hear about other Mixed Reality projects currently running at ETH and coordinated by LET.
