The draft programme for the next Media & Learning Online event on 18 November is now available. Starting the day will be a discussion about the evolving position of centres for teaching and learning with inputs from Alexandra Mihai, Maastricht University; Laura Czerniewicz, University of Cape Town and Deborah Arnold, AUNEGe. John McCullagh from Stranmillis University will then discuss the role of video in pre-service teacher training before we move on to tackling the thorny subject of how best to support teaching staff attempting to teach effectively in hybrid settings. This session includes inputs from Danielle Hinton, University of Birmingham; Anas Ghadouani, University of Western Australia, and Zac Woolfitt, Inholland University of Applied Sciences.
In the afternoon, we will be discussing how best to help academics choose the right video format for their courseware and sharing the work led by Wiebe Dijkstra & Pim van Schöll from Delft University of Technology. This session is followed by a showcase session featuring great examples of active and engaging media-supported learning which will include a talk by Peter Musaeus & Mads Ronald Dahl, Aarhus Universitet. The winner of the MEDEA Awards 2021 will be announced later on in the afternoon before a final discussion session with several experienced service providers and centre managers where we will take a look at developments as the impact of the pandemic recedes and we face a different sort of future for higher education. We will continue to add names and inputs to the agenda in the coming weeks, register now to be sure of your place.
