Literacy management

This webinar will introduce you to literacy management, an emerging professional field at the intersection of research on writing and reading, instructional design, institutional development, and the coaching of readers and writers. Illustrated with first-hand experiences of the presenter and his international colleagues, Gerd Bräuer will demonstrate in concrete terms what it means to manage literacy in today’s higher education. While he speaks about the specific competences needed in order to develop a different culture of academic literacy through writing centers, peer tutoring, or campus-wide portfolio systems, he will also introduce a certificate of advanced studies (CAS) course at the School of Applied Linguistics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur (ZHAW), named Literacy Management.
