Artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful technology driving change in many industries, including education. In the first part of this talk, we will give an overview of several modern use cases of AI in education, including personalised learning, universal access, class analytics, and smart content creation. In the second part of this talk, we will explore the topic of smart content creation in more depth. We will look at a specific example from the Swiss EdTech startup ecosystem, Smartest Learning (www.smartest.io). Smartest’s platform uses Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision to automatically create personalised practice exercises in seconds from any existing document. The exercises can be easily edited and shared with a class. We will provide insights from running pilots with Smartest in several Swiss schools.
